Receev exists to remember your purchases for you. That requires holding some of your data — this page explains exactly what we hold, why, and what we will never do with it, in plain language.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, and your name if you sign in with Apple and choose to share it. Used to create and secure your account.
- Receipt images. The photos you capture in the app or choose to import from your photo library.
- Purchase data. The structured details extracted from your receipts (merchant, amounts, dates, payment method as printed, offers) plus any edits and notes you add.
- Preferences. Settings like dark mode, stored to make the app work the way you set it.
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing activity, or advertising identifiers. The app contains no analytics SDKs and no ad networks.
How your photos are handled
Photo imports use Apple's out-of-process photo picker. Receev never gains access to your photo library — the app only receives the specific images you select. Camera access is used solely while you are on the scan screen, and stops the moment you leave it.
AI processing
To turn a receipt image into structured purchase data, the image is sent over an encrypted connection to our processing service (built on OpenAI's API) for a single purpose: extracting the purchase details you then review and save. Images are not used to build advertising profiles, and we do not permit our processor to use them to train models on our behalf.
Where your data lives
Your account, purchase data, and receipt images are stored with our hosting provider (Supabase) with encryption in transit. Access is enforced by row-level security: every record is bound to your account, and no other user can query it. Receipt images live in private storage reachable only through short-lived signed links generated for you.
What we never do
- We never sell your data. To anyone, in any form.
- We never show ads or share data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We never read your photo library, contacts, or location.
Deleting your data
Deleting a purchase in the app permanently removes its record and its receipt images from storage. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email us at arunavchoudhary01@gmail.com from your account email — we complete deletion within 30 days and confirm when done.
Children
Receev is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and note the change prominently in the app or on this site before it takes effect.
